Special Services

The Department of Special Services meets the individual needs of students ages three through twenty-one who are eligible for special education and related services according to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Our mission is to provide the highest quality educational services to students with disabilities by implementing individualized, research and standards-based interventions, instruction and assessments, as we prepare students to become productive, responsible, members of their communities.

The goal of special services is to ensure that every student with a disability residing in its jurisdiction is provided a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) and that these programs and services have appropriate personnel who have knowledge and skills necessary to meet the needs of children with disabilities.
